Adrienne Murphy
S2C Practitioner
I'm an I-ASC-certified S2C (Spelling to Communicate) Practitioner based in Dublin, Ireland who works with nonspeaking, minimally-speaking, and unreliably-speaking children and adults to help them develop the motor skills to point to letters on a board and communicate their thoughts. I also coach family members and communication partners to support this process.
About my work
I'm an S2C Practitioner, certified through the International Association for Spelling as Communication
(www.i-asc.org). I’m also a freelance writer, journalist, and magazine and book editor, with a masters degree in Modernist Literature.

I set up my S2C practice in Dublin 8, Ireland in 2024. In my work as an S2C Practitioner, I coach nonspeaking, minimally-speaking and unreliably-speaking children and adults with various diagnoses to gradually develop the arm movement skill to point accurately at letters on alphabet boards. The result of this process enables nonspeakers* to communicate their previously locked-in thoughts.

The goal, as S2C students gain in motor dexterity, is to transition from pointing at letterboards to typing on keyboards.
I also coach my students’ family members and allies how to “communication and regulation partner” – to CRP – for their nonspeakers.
